La Sierra de Francia it´s a touristic zone because it has original landscapes, gastronomy, crafts and traditions. From the geologic point of view, it is made up of mountain ranges not very high with heights next to the 1700 ms in the Rock of France.

      Its landscape contrasts with other zones of the province by its verdor, the abundance of forests, rivers, little streams and green prairies, where a rich wild life can also be observed and the famous Iberian pig that, fed on acorns, it serves as base extraordinary food of the region. The small villages, scattered by mountains, they conserve constructions of great interest and antiquity. Some old houses have been turned now factories craftsmen and stores count offer excellent natural products of the zone.

      In celebrations the old regional customs and dances and ceremonies can be seen that have stayed inalterable over generations. People said that during Reconquista the region was repopulated by people who came with Raimundo of Borgoña from the North, among them franks, astures and Basoues. From these days came the name of Rock of France that occurs to the Maxima own height and many names, and saints patrons who remember the origin of the repopulators.
